How To configure the Philips D-Line display with TDM Digital Signage

TDM Digital Signage supports Android devices, this can be Sony Bravia, Philips D-Line or any Android player. The installation method used for your device can be different, this manual explains how TDM Digital Signage can be configured for the Philips D-Line display.

1. Please login to the designer with an administrator account: https://designer.tdmsignage.com

2. After successfully logging in you will see the main dashboard. On the dashboard please select “Administration”.

3. Open the tab called “Licenses”.

4. From this overview you find your license key. Select “Show player URL” to see the license key.

5. Please note that you only have to fill in the last eight characters of the URL into the TDM Android Player. In the example below we use “xxxxxxxx” marked in red.

How To retrieve the latest version of the TDM Android Player

1. First, we need to download the .APK file. This is available in the designer. Please select: Administration > Downloads

2. Please select the “TDM Native Android Player”, once this is selected the APK file will be downloaded.

3. Copy the .APK to a USB stick.

How To configure the Philips D-Line display with TDM Digital Signage

1. Power on your Philips Player
   
   

2. Select the language in which to proceed (press 'Start' to continue)
   
   

3. Choose either Ethernet (wired) or Wireless network connection (press 'Next' to continue)
   
   

4. Select 'Finish' to return to the Source menu
   
   

5. Insert the USB storage device containing the TDM Android app (which must be extracted to the root of the USB storage device)
   
   

6. Using your remote control, press Home, 1,8,8,8 (If asked for a password, the default is 1,2,3,4)
   
   

7. Within the Admin Mode menu, select Apps
   
   

8. Navigate to the File Manager (and select 'Open')
   
   

9. Navigate to the MNT Folder (and select 'Open')
   
   

10. Navigate to the usb_storage folder (and select 'Open')
    
    

11. Open the TDM Android app (select ‘Open’)
    
    

12. Select ‘Install’
    
    

13. Once the app has installed, select 'Done'
    
    

14. Use the return key on your remote control to return to the Admin Menu
    
    

15. Navigate to Settings (select 'Open')
    
    

16. Select Signage Display
    
    

17. Select Custom App
    
    

18. Select the TDM android app
    
    

19. Select 'Save'
    
    

20. Select Signage Display/Digital Signage -> Server Settings
    
    

21. Enable ADB over network by ticking the box
    
    

22. Now we can continue to configure your time zone settings
    a. Navigate back to settings
    b. Go to Date and Time settings
    c. Check that the correct time zone is set for your player
    d. Press the Home button on the remote
    e. Navigate to Advanced Configuration
    f. Select Date and Time
    g. Select Daylight saving time
    h. Ensure that the daylight-saving time settings are correct for your time zone
    
    
    
    

23. The final setting is regarding the ability to power on/off your display with TV schedules configured in TDM, the following setting is required for this functionality to work:
    
    Select “Home” and go to: Advanced options -> Power save -> Enable mode 4
